BLOOD DISEASE



Leukemia is about defective blood composition. Quite large numbers of people were affected by the so-called blood disease. Even children and young adults are also prone to get the disease. It is a dangerous kind of disease and most of them did not survive.

Blood is made up of red blood cells. Its responsibility is to carry oxygen for distribution to every segments of the body especially the body organs to be able to function will. The role of white blood cells is to fight all types of infection it may be viral or bacterial.

 The function of the platelet is to avoid the formation of blood clots. They are suspended in a fluid known as plasma. Bone marrow manufactured blood cells. It is a spongy tissue in the center of the bones. The production of blood cells is made in an orderly fashion and in controlled way.

Leukemia occurred when the body is producing larger number of abnormal white blood cells. They are immature and not fully develop. It functioned abnormally kept on living instead of dying off as the cells are normally designed to do.

When abnormal blood cells started to build up and accumulates in high proportion, it interfere the production of normal cells in the bone marrow.

Leukemia was found to have genetic mutation origin in one or more bone marrow cells. This mutation was not developed during the birth of the child. There should be a balance of its normal requirements. If there are few red blood cells produced, it can cause anemia. 

The person has pale face and devoid of energy easily got tired. If the production of white blood cells is low, the body can’t fight off infections from the many foreign materials that entered into the body system. Bleeding will appear if there is lack of normal platelets to control blood clotting.

Leukemia are of many types with different behavioral characteristics. Lymphatic leukemia is if lymphocytes are affected.  If the myeloid cells are damage it causes myelogenous leukemia.

The degree of infection will determine the condition of the victim. If leukemia cells rapidly and abnormally multiply, the condition will develop in matter of weeks or few months. It was now called acute leukemia.

The abnormal replication of blood cells as it slowly accumulates in larger proportion slowly becomes chronic leukemia. The degree of development is gradual and not yet a life-threatening position. But if it left uncheck and untreated it will become an acute kind of leukemia.

Getting leukemia has its signs and symptoms. There is persistent weakness and chronic fatigue. While under physical activity, it causes shortness of breath or hard labor breathing. The lymph nodes in different parts of the body or selected location started to swell. There is enlargement of the spleen or liver. The skin can easily bruise even in slight pressure. Any minor cuts will result to prolonged bleeding or the cuts slowly heal.

Nosebleeds are common. There is swelling of gum or bleeding due to chronic infection. It has frequent infection to affected area in the body. There is tremendous weight reduction. An excessive sweating was visible. If it get serious, there is fever to occur.

Sometimes the victim of leukemia failed to notice his disease due the absence of concrete signs and symptoms. Chronic leukemia has no symptom felt even it already slowly started developing. It went unnoticed even for many years had passed. The time it was known, it was already on advanced stage. Even if there is accompanying fever, it was believed to be ordinary flu but it was not.

To validate suspicion, blood test or bone marrow test is taken. It is to determine what’s happening inside the body. Generally, leukemia can’t be prevented to form. Any age groups can have this deadly disease especially adults over the age of 60 years.

 Its genetic mutation increases to dangerous level if the victim is exposed to environmental hazards like exposure to high radiation, smoking habits, exposure to benzene in unleaded gasoline.

Leukemia can genetically be inherited. The genetic disorder increases risk of Down syndrome. It is also high those undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy due to cancer development.

There is complex procedure in treating leukemia. The doctor has to observe his general condition, his age to handle long term treatment and the kind of symptom he felt. Even if leukemia is considered treated, there is threat of remission and the complete healing is affected. Remission can be expected at any given time if the function of bone marrow will not return to normal. Its treatment is a lengthy process without any hope of complete cure.

Although there are many effective medical procedures to treat leukemia but it is costly and good only to those that can afford.

OUTBREAK OF SKIN LESION



Pimple is the outbreak of skin lesion due to acne, the known disorder. The skin oil glands makes too much sebum. It is an oily substance that caused plugged pores. It may also cause by the rapid production of a bacteria. Most of the acne lesion can be found in neck, face, chest, back and shoulders.

It is the common skin disease that may cause disfigurement and permanent scarring. Most of the pimples occurred in their early childhood especially during their adolescent years. Both men and women are prone to the disorder. Young men are preferably more affected than women. Women’s acne was related to hormonal change but it slowly reduced as they grow older. Some women still affected with acne at the age of less than 40 of age.

Women were mostly affected by this troublesome health condition. If pimples are severe, women will develop low-self-esteem, has poor body image and feeling depressed.
There were many kinds of skin lesion. Cyst was located deep within the skin. The nodules located deeper in the skin. They were painful and if severe, it cause scarring. 

Pustule (pimples) contains pus and appeared red at the base of infected area. Papule is called plugged pore.  If it stays under the skin is called closed comedo forming white bump or white bead. While the blackheads are comedos that open up and appeared blackish on the surface of the skin. Its black color formed as the air reacts with the excess oil.

What factors triggered acne:

-If there is hormonal change during puberty.
-If there is hormonal change in adult.
-Certain medicines used in depression can cause acne.
-Too much facial make-up.
-Pressure on the skin.
-Family history of acne formation.

During adolescent years, the girls have increased concentration of female hormones (androgen). The glands will become larger producing more sebum.

Hormonal changes in female adult mostly appeared during menstrual cycle that induces acne. Most often, it formed few days before the cycle then disappear after the cycle. It also appeared during pregnancy and during menopausal stage. To keep the face clean, work it with clean water with the used if mild soap that will not irritate the skin, twice a day is enough.

There are many medicines in the trade that can cure acne and prevents further infection. Treatment is effective with the supervision of a dermatologist.

Severe acne infection will result to swelling or redness to the affected area and scarring to the skin. But it can be treated by taking antibiotic pills as advised by the dermatologist. Large cyst that will not respond to treatment will be taken by draining the pus or removing entirely the cyst. Never attempt to pick or squeeze the cyst to prevent infection and only worsen the condition of the skin. It is the necessity to take care the skin and always have better personal hygiene.

There are good points to prevent acne to form:

-Clean your skin in the morning and afternoon. Use mild soap and wash it thoroughly. Don’t scrub the skin harshly, it will bring irritation.

-Don’t let the skin to get sunburned to avoid the risk of skin cancer and premature aging of the skin.

-Use make-up products that can safeguard the sensitivity of your skin. 

The condition of your skin will depend on how you took care of it. Cleanliness is the secret of glowing skin free from irritation and scars. A healthy skin is a healthy life. It can boost your self-esteem and many people will notice you on the street. Take good care of your skin and your skin will take care of you to be known.

QUITTING THE DANGEROUS SMOKE



Lung cancer is one of terminal illnesses many people don’t want to avoid. Even if they knew how dangerous the disease was, still they kept on pampering their personal habit without giving up an inch. Quitting for keep is the hardest. Fighting temptation is a torture. 

There still hope for the hopeless if they are willing to change their habit. Determination, sacrifice and common sense is the secret to be able to succeed.

If you are ready to do the following:

-Write down your reasons for quitting.

-Determine and be consistent when to start your quitting. Your determination to stop will guide you to break your smoking habit.

-To condition your will to quit, to have physical activity for 3 weeks will give you confidence and willing to refuse to the temptation.

-Have your own smoking record. This will record your initiative in the early days of your quitting program.

-Avoid the many triggers around you that will induce you to smoke.

-Reward yourself if you succeeded to control the triggers.
 
-Keep away from your friends that smoke. You can’t defend your urge to smoke.

 -Drink plenty of water or juices. It will alter the urge to get one stick.

-If you failed now, don’t give up. Repeat the process. If you tripped, regain your balance. Fight it the next time.

The withdrawal symptom is only temporary. It may last more or less 2 weeks. Review your position to minimize the effect until you are confident to proceed in your quitting program.  It just normal to relapse but it does not mean you have to continue and surrender your goal.

-Find a task to keep you occupied shifting your mind from the urge to smoke.
-Avoid coffee and other beverages that will induce you to smoke.

-Go with that “don’t smoke”. Make the environment more lively. Strike a conversation that is interesting to lengthen company with other non-smokers.

-Brush your teeth to remove all visible stain from nicotine. This is also to maintain personal hygiene.

-Music will distract you from thinking the unthinkable to smoke. It relaxes your sense of well-being.

-Develop confidence and your desire to stay away with smoke.

-Keep away to the place called the smoking zone. It will only aggravate your problem.

-Keep refresh by taking a bath often. It will help to calm your nerve.

-Initiate to have plenty of rest to relax your mind from the mental pressure.

-Don’t try to tempt yourself even one stick. It may lead to another.

-Chew sugarless gum to keep your mouth occupied.

-Avoid letting your urge or craving for a smoke.

-Practice breathing exercise. It will help to reduce the tension.

-Always think positive in your desire to quit. Keep away from the negative feeling that it can’t be done.

-Developing willpower is the only key to succeed in your goal.

Keeping away from smoke is not an easy task, even how hard it is - what you have been doing is for your own benefit. If you value your life then stop.

Remember that nicotine is the cause of lung cancer. It blocked the airways and destroy the cells. Your cooperation will save you. Don’t allow yourself to care less on your health. We live only once, we have to make life more useful and colorful maintaining healthy life. 

Your family are depending on you. Don’t fail them. You are the only one they’ve got.
Making your choice to slip doesn’t help you instead it worsen your dependence of your dangerous habit of smoking that will destroy you and your family as well.

SMOKE IN YOUR LIFE



It was in research that the shorter the butt of the cigarette delivers tars and nicotine at higher levels. If the butt still longer the cigarette has filters to hold back the release of the harmful chemicals. Each puff of cigarette smoke gives one unit dose of nicotine. This nicotine in the puff passes through the lungs into the blood supply reaches the brain in seven seconds.

Why they smoke? They smoke in order to fulfill the need of the body a certain level of nicotine. Believing that by smoking it calm their nerves and able to think more clearly without realizing there is no real positive advantage of doing smoking.
An estimated 10 puffs a cigarette, 1 pack daily will contains 60,000 nicotine shots to the brain in one year. Further, it shows 4 times much nicotine is excreted when urine is acidic rather than alkaline.

When someone is in the stage of stress in any environment (social atmosphere, at work or at home) smoking occurred repeatedly. The call from peer and social pressures is the reason why smokers find it hard to stop smoking. The nicotine-withdrawal syndrome is the reason of intense craving, depression, difficulty in concentration, irritability, restlessness, tension. Physically, there will be up and down of pulse rate. It also has relation in the presence of sleep disturbance, reduced work performance, constipation and elevated blood pressure. 

A first-time smoker suffered uncomfortable reaction out from nausea and dizziness. Palpitation of the heart occurred, vomiting sometimes present. Repeated smoking from a longer period of time has tolerance from uncomfortable feeling and become more relax by absorbing high quantity of nicotine to the body. It becomes a problem for the users how to stop the urge of puffing a cigarette.

The end result of this habit may lead to many major diseases out from several years of smoking. By ruining the health, lung cancer, emphysema, bronchitis, cardiovascular disease can easy damage the good health condition into a more serious one.

We are very aware that nicotine is harmful substances. It is a poison that started conquering the inner portion of the body. Taking 60 milligrams of smoke is a lethal dose that many of us did not know. Stopping the habit of smoking is a long battle to take. Relaxing control proved futile. The urge to smoke may happen anytime of the day when the craving to puff persist. This enslaving habit may change the attitude, character and ability to reason, because by smoking means disregarding the proper way of maintaining a good mental and physical health in order to have a longer life. He blinded his mind about the dangers of smoking because he gives more importance to supply his body with poison that started controlling his total existence.

There are many ways in conquering smoking habit but doing it against his will is most difficult. Resisting temptation is to control the urge to puff. But control cannot be realized without determination of the users to change his own character and perspective about the importance of being alive.
