POST-MENOPAUSAL EXPERIENCE

As women are approaching the primetime of their lives, their agony and inconvenience begin. Menopause is in the later stage of being a woman when there is some changes in the bio-chemistry of the body once pregnancy stop. Most often it occurred the age of 50 or over. It was the end of their childbearing years.

Menopause is the natural changes of woman’s life. It is gradual process of change which begins 5 years before menopause. The woman’s body produces hormones (estrogen and progesterone). As she near the post-menopausal period, the production of hormone started to decline abnormally. Its reduction influence the menstrual period slowly until permanently stopped.

The most distressing effect of menopause is hot flashes. It was a sudden feeling of warmth in the upper part of the body or it may affect the whole part of the body. There is warmness in the face and redness on the chest, back, upper arms and shoulder portion. There’s perspiration that will occur.

As the body temperature readjust to the changes, it easily perspire and has cold clammy hands. Hot flashes showed several times in a day. The degree and duration of hot flashes depends on how the body will adapt to the changes. It may be severe or disappear partially or totally in few months or last several years.

Menopause brought lots of discomfort. They were vulnerable to urinary tract infection, urinary incontinence. The pressure on the bladder during laughing, coughing and other activities causes portion of the urine let during urination. The restriction happened during bladder stress.

In post-menopausal period, osteoporosis was common because of the decrease production of estrogen. The bones of older women can easily brittle or fracture as the bone mass slowly decreases its strength and durability. It was the reason of having porous bones.

Fractures are common in the area in the wrists, spine, hips and forearms. Osteoporosis can’t be detected the early stage of losing calcium. There’s no symptom whatsoever is felt. As the seriousness of the condition progresses reaching the point untreatable, fractures will occur if the bones can’t handle with the pressure especially meeting accidents and breaking some bones.

Calcium is needed in the early stage of osteoporosis. The progression may delay or may stop and recovery may be possible slowing down further the bone loss. Taking vitamin D is important for calcium absorption. Those women that can afford resorted to estrogen replacement. But it has after effect of feeling headache, nausea, swollen breasts, weight gain and fluid retention.

Menopause brought discomfort but it is part of aging process many women have to pass. Many women in menopausal stage has mood swing, easily get tired, feeling nervous, excessive sweating, insomnia, headache, breathing problem, painful joints and muscles, irritable and don’t have enough patience if contrary to her expectation.

It is important for women to develop positive outlook in life. Menopause is normal part of aging. We can’t control aging. A woman should adjust to the changes that occurred in her life. The transition may be difficult but with positive attitudes he can pass the crisis in due time.

Menopausal women should maintain healthy life. To minimize the impact of the post-menopausal period, women should start keeping their bodies to stay healthy at all times. To aid from her body changes, she should maintain better nutrition, good diet and other nutritional requirement to keep her body acquires enough defenses against infections. A balanced diet may help to correct any nutritional deficiencies that will cause further stress during her menopausal period.

PANIC ATTACK

If there’s no fear in your eyes, what are you? Even the bravest man on earth sometimes felt fear in his heart, the fear of dying. Many told us that they are not afraid of death but when the hour came, there is terror in their eyes.  Their heart beats fast and suffocated their breathing.

Panic attack is one of emotional disturbance a human felt that he can’t control. It was a reflex of fear to something he wanted to avoid but can’t escape. This was the most distressing moment in his life trying to run away from the threat that will surely come. He wanted to hide but from whom?

Panic disorder is chronic illness, recurrent and has debilitating effect to person’s health, his work, his dealing with his family and his social interaction with other people. It can be felt spontaneously without apparent triggers. It may only last few moments but the effect is damaging to his personality. It restricted his movements and his ability to carry-out his function and normal activities during the day.

Panic disorder has biological and psychological components. The body will immediately give alarm response to a situation with no provocation. It has low tolerance and its response to stress. The disturbance in the mind is the coping mechanism of repeated stresses in life.

It is a natural feeling human has to handle once or twice. It is not easy to be free from certain circumstances. He may know beforehand or may be caught in surprise or unaware of his fate. Upon knowing, he may be in sudden shock in several minutes, helpless what to do. There is beads of sweat in his face and chilled him to the bones.

Panic attack is a disorder. It was repeated experiences that weakened his strength. It occurred to him several times. It was a sudden feeling of fear, disabling emotions unprovoked even as he tried to conceal.

A man that was afraid felt pain in his chest. He was dizzy, lightheaded and has nausea. There was difficulty in his breathing. There was pounding in his heart that is going strong and so fast. He felt numbed in his hands and feet. There was tingling sensation in the back of his neck.

A near-death experienced he felt while driving give chill to his mind. It missed his life a few seconds. His experience decided him not to drive again. His fear will just appear if he is at the wheel. His better concentration failed. His emotion was so sudden as if it suffocated him. He developed pattern of avoidance wherever he goes. He just rode with other transportation vehicle instead of driving alone in his car.

It stressed him by just remembering what happened. He can’t move normally. He can’t live in total control with ease and comfort because it is an unbearable feeling that makes a point in his life. He was a slave to it.

Panic disorder is disabling emotional trauma. It is an illness that needs medical attention. Living normal life is harder for him because fear always shadowed his mind and controlled his movement. He is not sure of himself. He has doubts that he can’t avoid the creeping feeling and surge of fear.

Panic attack can be treated. Modern medicine has the ability to lessen the impact of fear. Fear can’t be completely prevented but the promise of relief can be done under the supervision of medical specialist. It can reduce the severity and frequency of the attack.
The physician will conduct series of tests to determine the source of your fear and the condition of the brain. The emotional difficulty has something to do with the function of the mind, the degree of experience that causes him to be afraid.

Panic disorder can’t be treated overnight. It is a long process of treatment until the mind able to control its action by relaxing the senses. If not completely healed, it may continue months or years.

It is easy for a child to develop fear. In the early stage of his life, fear controlled him until he is old enough to understand the consequence and the effect of it to his health.

Why some individual continue losing hair even if he has no history in his family of this kind of problem? The most affected portion is the front of the head. Although lost hair can be replaced by new hair but the problem is that losing hair is higher compared to new hair that will grow in the follicles.

Your stress in the office or at home contributes your losing of hair. Our body mechanism cannot control stress. It impairs portion of the body and it causes disease. That's how potent stress damages our health.

Growing new hair has no chance if is hereditary. If your forefathers have history of many bald relatives in your family, then you have it even how much you will avoid. Any control measures has no effect no matter what you will do.

Any disorder in the body like having thyroid, controls the new growth of hair. It slows down the growth of hair. Taking strong medication causes hair loss temporarily especially if the medicine has side effect. It is common to a person with terminal disease undergoing chemotherapy procedure.

Some little ways we can do to slow down baldness:

-Eliminate the stress. Find time to prevent your uneasy feeling. It is controllable if you will.

-Use medications helpful to grow hair. It maybe in the form of cream or lotion. You can buy it in the drugstores. If you use this cream or lotion often there is a chance to re-grow your hair fast. Try it but don't expect too much. Some people were resistant to treatment and their baldness continues.

-Acceptance. There's nothing you can do. You can use wigs if you want to cover your baldness. Besides, you are not alone. There are so many of them having the same problem.

-One technique used by some teenagers or adults is by shaving completely the head to look stylish. The trend that click. No need to use styling gel or shampoo, anyway you don't have hair anymore. Follow the trend, don't be ashamed. If someone ask you about your head, just tell them it is the style of today.

-Don't worry too much in losing hair. Remember as we age, at the time we reach our prime, for sure we only have little hair left or no hair at all. No use expecting too much when the inevitable will happen when we grow older.
