RARE BLEEDING DISEASE

What causes the body to bleed internally or externally? What’s the reason the body can’t control the bleeding? It was a rare disease because it is not common to most people, only those t affected by its genetic make-up. The disease was about the clotting of the blood. The blood has  normal rate of circulation. It should not go higher or lower but to maintain based on the established level. The impairment of its rate of distribution causes blood clot. The body has many plasma-clotting protein recorded about 13 of them. If one of them is defective, the distribution is in slow pace and normal blood clotting was affected.

It has hereditary characteristics. If the mother has it, the child has it also. The genetic disease was unpredictable as there was no symptom as it formed. Women are the carrier of the disease. The abrupt changes in the mutation process of the gene caused the disease.  It is transferable within the family if one has it.

Hemophilia is mild disease. The higher the degree of its effect is considered as highly dangerous. It is a silent disease. If known, it is too late to treat. There was no symptom before it strike. It can only be known if there is continues bleeding especially during surgical procedure or if there is an injury in any part or organ of the body due to abnormal blood clotting. Another example is the removal of defective tooth. The distress it caused to the gum result the bleeding. The tiny veins and capillaries in the gum line started to bleed. It bleeds every now and then for matter of several days until the damaged gum line is fully healed.

The most dangerous part of the bleeder’s disease is when the blood oozes even in slight injury, bruises, cut in the skin or bitten tongue or lip. If there is internal injury in some organs causes deadly internal bleeding that is hard to stop if not medically attended. The internal bleeding may spread to the joints and muscles of the body and the blood stayed too long in the joint, there is severe pain. It becomes stiff and hard to move. The lining of the joints were inflamed, irritated and bled. The joints were found in ankle, knees, elbows, hip and shoulder. The persistent bleeding will damage the organs and tissues.

The small blood cell fragment produce in the bone marrow called platelets participated in the normal blood clotting. Any injured or damage blood vessels, the protein (clotting factor) assisted the platelets. They joined and stuck together to shield and blocked the flow of blood that breaks in the vessels facilitating ability to stop the bleeding.

The inherited disease appeared if the protein (antibodies) started attacking and destroying the clotting factor to do their work normally or restraint it from working. Most often, males were commonly affected in abnormal (poor, slow) blood clotting. If a gene mutates and defective  it will be the starting point to bleed. The bleeding begins early and in spontaneous form excessively until it is hard to make it stop especially if there is injury or trauma occurred.

The activation of different proteins and fibrins were formed. It cross-links itself for purpose of forming a mesh needed in final clotting of blood.

How it is known that the bleeding started?

-If there is blood in the urine (urinary tract).
-If there is bleeding in the stool (intestinal tract).
-If there is gum bleeding due to tooth extraction.
-If there is brain hemorrhage (intracranial).
-If there is bleeding during surgery or after surgery.
-If there is bleeding in the mouth (lungs) or constant nosebleeds occurred.
